CITY RESIDENTS:
Residents of Monticello are served by the city for electricity, water, gas, garbage and sewer. City Hall, located at 123 West Washington Street, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Deposits are required and vary depending on the level of service to be provided. Charges for services are billed by the city the first of each month. Payment for city services is due on the 15th of each month.

Propane Gas:
Propane gas is delivered by several local companies. Consult the yellow pages of the telephone directory to choose a supplier.
Natural Gas:
The City of Monticello provides natural gas service to residents of the City of Monticello, to Jasper County residents south of the city, to Jones County in the north and west central part of the county.

Sanitation

Monticello is served by Advanced Disposal Service located on Rodeo Drive in Jackson. The monthly fee of $12.00 appears on your utility bill. Wednesday is the regular day for pickup. Please call Advanced Disposal at 770-775-1001 if you need more information.

For residential service connection call BellSouth toll free at 780-2355. In addition to the 468-exchange, Monticello-Jasper County is served in some areas by Covington, Jackson or Eatonton with no long-distance charges made for calls within that local calling area. |
