Russell Gross was reelected to the post of Mayor Pro-Tem in 2007 which he had held for the year previous having won the seat in a special election. He has been a resident of Monticello for 7 years but proudly points out that his familial roots in the community date back to 1814. Although Mr. Gross worked in hotel management enterprises in both Macon and Atlanta before his retirement, he has been active in local community economic development activities for many years. He was previously executive director of the Better Business Bureau of Coastal Georgia, the Federal Funds Coordinator for the City of Macon, and a deputy personnel director for the City of Savannah. Russell has two daughters, Beth and Anne, and two grandchildren, Emily and Evan. |
